What to expect during your first financial planning meeting

Your first financial planning meeting sets your path in motion. It’s an opportunity for you to get to know your Personal Wealth Adviser—and for them to really understand you. Not just your finances, but your goals, values, and vision for the future.

Your adviser will ask about your ambitions, financial situation, and any concerns you may have. There are no right or wrong answers—this is a safe space, and we aim for it to be the beginning of a long-term partnership.

The session usually lasts around 60—90 minutes. If you have any relevant paperwork—such as pension statements—it's a good idea to bring them along.

Afterwards, your adviser will create a tailored plan based on everything you’ve discussed and present it to you at your next meeting, along with confirmation of the associated costs. You won’t pay anything unless you go ahead with the recommendations in your financial plan.
