Colleagues go the extra mile to raise funds for veterans and their families

At Lloyds Wealth, we’re proud to support the Armed Forces and, in recent years, have actively contributed through a range of fundraising and volunteering initiatives.

With Armed Forces Week taking place from 22nd to 28th June, alongside Reserves Day on 24th June, which is particularly relevant for some of our colleagues who serve as reservists, this is a valuable opportunity to reflect on and celebrate some of our recent activity.

Colleagues across our business have taken part in a range of initiatives to raise funds for Walking With The Wounded, a UK charity that helps veterans facing mental, physical and social challenges rebuild their lives and move towards positive futures.

Taking on the Cumbrian Challenge

In May, a team of five colleagues took on the Cumbrian Challenge in the Lake District, completing a demanding 22km hike with over 1,100 metres of ascent.

Despite tough terrain and unpredictable conditions, the team showed resilience and determination throughout as they worked together to overcome steep climbs and technical descents to reach the finish line.

Thanks to their efforts and the generosity of supporters, the team raised over £1,500 for Walking With The Wounded.

A team effort on and off the pitch

Meanwhile, in Leeds, colleagues organised a charity football tournament at Leeds West Academy, bringing together 35 players and volunteers for a day of friendly competition and fundraising.

The event showcased a strong sense of community, with colleagues, families and local partners coming together in support of the cause.

Together, the event raised over £2,275. A huge thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, donated and supported the tournament.

Making a meaningful difference, now and looking ahead

From endurance challenges to community events, these efforts highlight the collective commitment of our colleagues to supporting causes that matter.

But it doesn’t stop there. We look forward to continuing our support for Armed Forces charities throughout the rest of the year, with further fundraising and volunteering initiatives planned.
